Tarot Card for the Week of 10-28-12

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics or actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. However, some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Devil card as the tarot card for the week of 10-28-12, it serves as a reminder that it might be time to ask for help from above or advice from others for solving personal problems. This might also be the week to realize that you have been enslaved by your own fears and desires. You will need to face them head on. Will you be able to give up some of your stubbornness and materialism? This is the week in which you may find yourself trying to break some negative habits. At the end of the week, you decide if the Devil card fell in the upright or reverse position for you.

MAJOR ARCANA 15

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN or PLANET: CAPRICORN, SATURN

UPRIGHT:
The Devil tarot card is often misunderstood, primarily because the Devil is involved. It is not directly representative of evil. It can relate to a person’s focus on material possessions and physical appearance. A hopeless and helpless feeling can surround this card. You are tricked into feeling possessed, as if by a hidden force, which is causing harmful and negative thoughts and behaviors.  You have an addiction or obsession to obtain earthly desires. You are willing to take any measures to get them. You have become inflexible and obsessed. The spiritual side of life is neglected because of the attachment to the physical world. There is a desire for material things and a selfish presence. This is adversely affecting you and your relationships. Unwanted actions and self-bondage to something are often experienced, which hinder personal growth or health. You are unwilling to accept responsibility for your negative actions. As the saying goes, “The Devil made me do it.”

REVERSED:
In the reversed position, the Devil card can signify divorce and detachment. It can also represent total evil, greed, or emotional blackmail. You are your own worst enemy and you have put yourself into an emotional imprisonment. You may be overindulging yourself and have been gluttonous and greedy, but there is a hefty price to pay. You have been abusing yourself and others for too long. You have put blinders on and have been unable to see your weaknesses and those of others. On the positive side, it can indicate overcoming adversity or enlightenment. Confront your demons head on. It is also a time for making apologies, where appropriate. You may also find that you are released from  bondage to material possessions and from being an emotional hostage. New views about your place in the Universe may be revealed.

Tarot Card for the Week of 10-14-12

With the Hanged Man as the tarot card for the week of 10-14-12, will this be the week to bring about change through sacrifice? If you are feeling stagnant, this may be a time to reconcile your past and look toward the future. Try not to wallow in self-pity or play the martyr this week. This may not be the week to isolate yourself or the week to be apathetic.  It would be best for you to use your intuition to help make a positive choice or decision. At the end of week, you decide whether or not the Hanged Man fell in the upright or reverse position for you.

MAJOR ARCANA NUMBER 12

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN or PLANET: PISCES, NEPTUNE

UPRIGHT:
The Hanged Man card represents sacrifice, surrender and selfless acts. This is a time for your patience and renewal. Understand what your future needs might be. The Hanged Man embodies the notion that sometimes to lose is to win. It is time to give up trying to do things your way. It might be the time to do the exact opposite. He creates his fate through inaction and accepts his fortune passively, without resistance. He does not struggle to control the path his life takes, but rather allows events to sweep him where they will, even if he is called upon to sacrifice himself. So at ease with the fate that the Universe has chosen for him, even hanging upside down from a tree does not ruffle any feathers. In other words, outcomes are based on faith, rather than knowledge. He relies on his intuition, is not shy of prophecies and may use divinations.

REVERSED:
In the reversed position, the Hanged Man card signifies an unwillingness to help, martyrdom or even loss. It can indicate a failure to act, a lack of progress or apathy. It might be a time to reevaluate, but not a time to make final decisions. Your current state and situations may take a different turn, whether to the positive side or the negative side. You may be experiencing spiritual bankruptcy. It can also signify materialism and selfishness. You might be unable to let go of anger and resentments and harbor self-pity. There are those who may take advantage of you by using emotional blackmail. This is not the time to play the martyr.
