Tarot Card for the Week of 1-27-13

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics and actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. Keep in mind that some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Empress Card, Major Arcana, as the tarot card for the week of 1-27-13, this might be the week you might be recognized for your past efforts and be rewarded for them. You might also find that good fortune and joy are following you this week. Are you relying on your instincts or feelings or are you allowing others to control you? This is also a period in which to look at domestic stability and to realize some plans taking shape. Is your sadness and bitterness bringing you down? What family problems might be lying in front of you. Beware of a female with some negative energy who may be visiting this week. Take a realistic look at your financial and personal gains and losses. At the end of the week, you decide if the Empress card fell in the upright or reversed position for you.

MAJOR ARCANA NUMBER 4

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN or PLANET: LIBRA, VENUS

UPRIGHT:
The Empress card is the earth mother, symbolizing fruitfulness, fertility or the beginnings of a new venture. She embodies all that is nurturing and wholesome. She cares for life on a grand scale. She understands that life’s simple pleasures bring the most joy, although she enjoys the finer things, as well. She is sensual, earthy and generous. She can represent creativeness in some people and a broadening of horizons. The card indicates growth, prosperity and joy. Also, there is a message of patience — any delays in life are only temporary. You will have good health, domestic stability and happiness and you will reap the benefits of your efforts. Expect great outcomes. In fact, your rewards will be greater than you ever anticipated.

REVERSED:
In the reversed position, the Empress card can signify your indecisiveness of you or another individual, an inability to take action, overly dependent on others and infidelity. It can also symbolize possible infertility, lack of material resources or poverty.  This might not be the best time to have a female connection or relative visit your home — tempers might rise to a fever pitch. This individual might want to take over the household. This card may also indicate that you are at a time of stagnation and your personal growth has come to a standstill. You may feel emotionally drained and sense a lot of negative energy around you.

Which Archangels to Turn to?

archangels
For centuries, cultures and religions have been fascinated with the concept of archangels and angels. They are described by a multitude of religious faiths and cited in many spiritual doctrines. All angels are known as “beings of light” because of their awe-inspiring purity and power.

A hierarchy exists within the angel realm. The Archangels are of the highest order, closest to God. The angel you are assigned at birth is an Archangel, however; many different angels work with you throughout your life.

Archangels are here to help us bring goodness, peace, compassion and hope into our lives. They are pure love, and they remind us that in everyone there exists love. As divine helpers, they act by delivering messages or helping us when in need. It has been said that the angel’s purpose is to be there when we face critical junctures in our lives. Archangels guide us through our challenges and help us to navigate a smoother path; however, they do not take on all of our burdens and problems and make them disappear. They guide us toward a certain direction, but ultimately we must choose which direction to take. Listed below are some of the Archangels and their specialties.

Archangel Raphael: In Hebrew, “rapha,” means doctor or healer and the name Raphael means “God Heals,” or “Healing Power of God.” He brings healing to humans and animals — physical, emotional and spiritual. If you are involved in healing work of the mind, body and spirit, you may call on him to assist you. He also can be called upon to assist in making your travel plans go smoothly and protect you and your belongings during your journey.

Archangel Gabriel: The name means “Strength from God.” Gabriel is one of the two highest-ranking Archangels and is known as the “Messenger Angel” and communicator. He helps in all areas of communication and in creative, dramatic and artistic expression. If you possess psychic abilities, it is advisable to ask Gabriel to help you receive clear messages. He also gives strength and guidance to those who are considering bringing a child into their life.

Archangel Ariel: The name means “Lion of God.” Ariel protects and heals the living things in nature — animals, fish, birds, plants and the elements (water, wind, fire, earth).  You can call on her for healing your pets.  She can also help you feel more grounded and connected to the Earth.

Archangel Zadkiel: The name means “Righteousness of God” and he is considered the Archangel of Mercy. Turn to Zadkiel when you are having difficulty forgiving yourself or others. He can also bring compassion back into your life and help you to move forward. He is a healer of the mind and can keep you from staying stuck in your own disappointments and emotional baggage. He will help you to see things from a perspective of Divine light and give you the strength to let go of abusive relationships. Zadkiel will also open the door to your spiritual development.

Archangel Michael: The name means “He Who Is Like God.” He is the leader of the Archangels and known for his leading the battle against Satan. Michael is the one to turn to if you are need of guidance in the areas of career and life aspirations. You can call on him for protection of your home, property, family and loved ones. He will help you to grow spiritually and emotionally, and give you the courage to make the changes that are necessary to accomplish it.

Archangel Chamuel: The name means “He Who Sees or Seeks God.” He is the angel of peaceful and loving relationships. He is kindhearted and compassionate — an archangel of love who can help bring out sincere and deep feelings within. Chamuel is the one to call on when you are in need of help with your relationships, partnerships and careers. He can teach you to how love yourself and how to have the strength to end any hurtful relationships.

Archangel Uriel: The name means “God is Light.” He takes you out of the darkness and into Divine truth and light and helps you to embrace your inner wisdom. Turn to Uriel when you are confused about what God’s will is for you. If you are feeling stuck and looking for new ideas and creativity, call on Uriel for guidance. He will help you to transform your life and yourself into something greater and more positive. Uriel will also help you in love and protect your relationships from destructive energies.

Turn to the Archangels whenever you are in need of help with a specific problem. They are not limited to assisting one person at a time. They have the ability to assist as many people who might simultaneously call upon them. Do not be worried about using a specific prayer to contact an Archangel for help. When you pray from the heart and ask for guidance, they will hear you.

Let the Spirits Do the Writing

Automatic writing or drawing is the act of putting pen to paper and automatically and spontaneously producing writings or drawings without forethought or prior knowledge of what to write or draw. Automatic writing is used as a tool for therapists, writers and psychics.

As a therapeutic modality, psychologists and psychotherapists use it to help patients tap into their subconscious mind and thoughts. This gives the patient and therapist a better understanding of what may be repressed and what is going on in the subconscious mind. To accomplish this, some therapists have used hypnosis to relax their patients into a trance-like state so that the conscious mind chatter does not get in the way of the writing or drawing.

Automatic writing is also an excellent tool to help writer’s suffering from “writer’s block.” It helps hone in writing skills and sparks creative ideas in the conscious mind. Practicing this technique opens up and unblocks the writer’s abilities and talents.

During the time of the Spiritualist movement in the mid-1800s, automatic writing was accepted as a way for psychics and even ordinary people to connect with the spirit world. It is also known as “spirit” or “trance” writing and it continues to be a widely used divination today. Many people practicing this divination claim that as the spirit or entity sends messages through them, it feels as though the spirit is moving the arm and hand over the paper.
HOW TO GET STARTED
Although you are probably more used to a computer for writing these days, it is best to use pen and paper due to the fact that they give you the ability to draw images or symbols.

Find a quiet place and a comfortable chair and table. Clear your mind of the unwanted chatter, as it can be distracting and block the flow. It is a good idea to meditate as a calming exercise. (If you are using it as a divination tool, keep in mind that when connecting with the spirit world, there are some people who have channeled negative energies or spirits. Ask for protection from a higher power before you begin. Call on any spirits that might be near you or around you. Give the spirit permission to channel through your writing or drawing.) Do not allow your mind to filter out anything that is coming through. Just allow messages to flow, even if you don’t know quite where they fit in. When you have completed the writing or drawing, contemplate on what messages you received. Put away your pen or computer until your next session.

No matter for what purpose your use of automatic writing or drawing is intended, don’t get discouraged if it seems not to make sense right away. Over time and with patience and practice, it will start to flow and you will begin to reap its benefits.

Know Your Psychic

It is very important to know the different types of psychics and psychic readings that are available to you before you make a choice. Psychic readings are divided into two groups — structured and unstructured. A structured reading involves the use of divination tools such as tarot cards; the lines, bumps and markings on your palms, head and other parts of the body; rune stones; I-Ching coins; tea leaves; astrology birth charts; and numbers, to name a few, to give information and answers about your career, relationships and past, present and future events in your life. Some people who are not true psychic mediums do perform these readings and are extremely accurate and knowledgeable. And many courses are available that can teach you these different divinations; however, a more in-depth reading will be accomplished if given by an individual with true psychic abilities.

In an unstructured reading, the psychic medium relies on his or her psychic gifts to reveal information about your feelings, emotions and relationships. They also have the ability to connect with people who have passed, as well as with people who are currently playing an important role in your life. When getting this type of reading, it is usually best to have a specific question in mind or some past, present or future issues that need resolving. This is the highest form of psychic mediumship and is known as evidential psychic mediumship. The medium will be able to give you specific names, dates and details that only you or someone in your family would know. Also, some are able to read animals’ thoughts and connect with animals who have passed. Someone who is not truly a psychic medium will not be able to give an accurate unstructured reading.

Another type of psychic ability associated with an unstructured type of reading is that of a psychic/spiritual healer. The work of a psychic healer can be described as viewing a person through the psychic’s mind’s eye and looking at people’s energies with respect to their chakras, auras, physical organs and overall health. A psychic senses and identifies where someone’s energy needs unblocking. To do that, some psychic healers associate themselves with one or more guides, calling on their angels, spirit guides and a Divine power for assistance in their work. Because these assistants are not in the physical world, they can aid in obtaining a higher consciousness and ability, which helps the psychic to rebalance a person’s free-flowing energy and accelerate their healing.

Some people attribute the healing that may take place during a psychic healing session as merely a “placebo effect.” Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary defines the placebo effect as “the improvement in the condition of a patient that occurs in response to treatment but cannot be considered due to the specific treatment used.” In other words, if you believe you can be healed, the healing occurs. Psychic healers have healed many individuals and have done so without using conventional medical treatments. Whether the healing is a placebo effect or not, some documented results from these healings have been miraculous and unexplainable. Keep in mind that any psychic healings should be used in tandem with the current conventional medical options that are available for the specific ailment or disease.

Some common terms used to describe types of psychic abilities are clairalience (the ability to smell scents from the spirit world or from those who are not physically nearby); clairaudience (also known as “clear hearing,” the ability to hear words, sounds and voices from the spirit world); clairgustance (the ability to physically perceive tastes without tasting anything); clairsentience (the ability to sense or feel the presence of those who have passed or to sense the auras and vibrations of all living things); and finally, the most notable of the clairs, clairvoyance (also known as “clear seeing,” the ability to mentally see through the mind’s eye, spirits or people who have passed on. It also refers to the ability to obtain information about a person, place or event without the use of the five senses).

When choosing a psychic, do not be afraid to ask questions about the psychic’s abilities in advance of the reading, especially if you do not have a personal recommendation. Before you sit down with a psychic, remember the expression “Buyer Beware.” Unfortunately, as in every business, there are those who will take advantage of people that are showing any signs of desperation. You should be comfortable with your choice — trust your gut instincts. Some readings can be entertaining and some can be quite healing and comforting.

Through the investigative research efforts of Psychic Library, we have found that a large percentage of the structured readers we randomly contacted or visited were accurate in the use of their specialized divinations. Some of the readers had special psychic abilities and intuition that embellished and enhanced the readings the Psychic Library team received. However, the unstructured readers who were claiming to possess some form of psychic mediumship abilities did not deliver what they promised. In most cases, our expectations were not met. Instead of providing concrete evidence, these would-be psychic mediums were asking our team of researchers to give them information, even though they were in fact claiming to be in touch with the spirit world. For example, rather than giving information about one of the team members health problems, the psychic asked “do you have any health problems you want to discuss?” It seemed that for the most part, our team received cold readings and not true evidential psychic readings. Keep in mind, there are very qualified psychic mediums and intuitive counselors available to you. However, do try and seek out a psychic medium who has been recommended by someone you trust or who has had an accurate, helpful or healing reading.

Hopefully this gives you a better understanding of what to look for when contacting a psychic, whether it is online, at a psychic fair or a bookstore.
