Tarot Card for the Week of 1-31-16

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics and actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. Keep in mind that some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Tower card, Major Arcana, as the tarot card for the week of 1-31-16, this may be the week of change. It will be important to brace yourself for some irritating and troublesome situations in order to reap the benefits of positive outcomes and change. There is the possibility that you will feel you are at the point of hopelessness, but bear with it. This is the week to dig down to your core and get in touch with your humility and inner wisdom. Being a know-it-all alone will not serve you well. You may feel that relationships, a business, finances or career are crumbling, which may be due in part to unsteady foundations to begin with. It is your choice now to decide how to build a firmer one. Expect and accept the rapid changes in your life — they are beyond your control. What has taken place in the past may be hindering your progress going forward. It is important to look at your own behavior and beliefs, as these may also be holding you hostage. This may be the week that you need to make that decision to implement a new start. If you suffer a physical injury, don’t overreact because it may not be as damaging as you think it is. Any feelings of being sabotaged are of your own doing. It is time to take a good look at yourself and determine if you are being your own worst enemy. Remember never to abuse any power or authority given to you. This is also the week to beware of any people who might be misrepresenting themselves to you. At the end of the week you decide if the Tower card fell in the upright or reversed position for you.

MAJOR ARCANA NUMBER 16

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN or PLANET: AQUARIUS, ARIES, MARS

UPRIGHT:
The Tower card represents those things you are unwilling to face but must or those things that you have no choice over. It indicates that something will be torn down or shattered violently. There is an indication that your ego may be deflated. You may suffer bankruptcy, severe conflict within your career, a devastating relationship loss, even a possible separation, divorce or imprisonment. Your life is in a state of upheaval. There will be a period of disorder, and there may be loss. Expect setbacks and emotional turmoil. However, there is a possible light at the end of the tunnel to relieve and free you. Even though you might find this overwhelming, the card insists that you make changes and look for the good in them. You may find yourself moving out of your current home and/or a change in occupations. Positive outcomes can occur from this card. Truths will be laid bare, revelations and breakthroughs are not only possible, but likely, and nothing spurs creativity like a good dose of chaos and confusion. In the end, it is likely that the replacement of what was lost in the fall of the Tower will be worth the loss.
REVERSED:
In the reversed position, the Tower card can signify a fear of change, staying in a rut, procrastination, caught in a bad situation, change avoidance and escaping disaster. You might have a loss of your job or financial setbacks. You must take responsibility for your actions. You have possibly misused certain power or authority that you possess. You may be blamed for things you have not done and you must face these allegations with courage. You may experience some changes in relationships. This is a time to take a look to the future and prepare yourself to change for the better. If you resist these changes, you are setting yourself up for a fall. You have no control over the outcome, however, there might be a last minute saving grace or epiphany for you.

Tarot Card for the Week of 1-17-16

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics and actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. Keep in mind that some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Seven of Swords as the tarot card for the week of 1-17-16, this might be the week you realize that some of your financial investments have not panned out to your expectations. This may have occurred due to the fact that you may have received some bad advice or that you have deceived yourself and others. It is now time to be hyper-vigilant and move forward with caution. You might get an opportunity to reconnect with friends from the past. You also might find an object that had been lost for some time. It is time to look inward to understand why some venture recently failed and to not place blame on other people. However, things may not been in your power to control; therefore, just rethink different approaches. You may be feeling that your plans are going awry right now, but just hang in there, there will be improvements. Make a point to be up front this week and not deceitful, as honesty is the key to making your plans come to fruition. Don’t let your own denial get in the way of someone taking advantage of you.

UPRIGHT:
The Seven of Swords, Minor Arcana, signifies deception and sneakiness. The truth remains hidden. Betrayal takes the forefront at any cost. Nothing is safe — be it property, ideas, or governmental position. Often done with much secrecy and with the attitude of not being caught, you tend to live in solitude. However, there is a flaw. Someone will catch on. There is a temptation to run away from problems rather than face them. Slipping out of sight seems like a good way out. Subtlety and diplomacy are being used cunningly. Keep in mind, this may not be you, but you can fall victim to such an individual.
REVERSED:
You may have been deceived or you were the deceitful one. There are feelings of confusion. This is a time for reflection on old behavior patterns. A desire for change is working its way in. Old ways of thinking and behavior patterns are difficult to change. Hard work is necessary to take the first step in a new direction. Apologies should be given. You are now having to face unwanted criticisms. If you take advice to heart from well meaning people, things will start to change for the better. It is time to let go of your old ways.

Tarot Card for the Week of 1-10-16

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics and actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. Keep in mind that some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Devil card as the tarot card for the week of 1-10-16, it serves as a reminder that it might be time to ask for help from above or advice from others in solving personal problems. The Devil card may seem threatening and alarming on the surface, but it does bring a message about the importance of focusing your energies on positive thoughts and actions. Perhaps you have been thrown a bit off course in your life and this is the time to get back on track and change for the better. This might be the week to acknowledge that you have been enslaved by your own fears and desires. You must face your demons head on. Will you be able to give up some of your stubbornness and materialism?  You can break some of those negative habits. The card also reminds you to keep temptation at bay and that moderation and balance are the keys to enrichment. At the end of the week, you decide if the Devil card fell in the upright or reverse position for you.

MAJOR ARCANA 15

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN or PLANET: CAPRICORN, SATURN

UPRIGHT:
The Devil tarot card is often misunderstood, primarily because the Devil is involved. It is not directly representative of evil. It can relate to a person’s focus on material possessions and physical appearance. A hopeless and helpless feeling can surround this card. You are tricked into feeling possessed, as if by a hidden force, which is causing harmful and negative thoughts and behaviors. You have an addiction or obsession to obtain earthly desires. You are willing to take any measures to get them. You have become inflexible and obsessed. The spiritual side of life is neglected because of the attachment to the physical world. There is a desire for material things and a selfish presence. This is adversely affecting you and your relationships. Unwanted actions and self-bondage to something are often experienced, which hinder personal growth or health. You are unwilling to accept responsibility for your negative actions. As the saying goes, “The Devil made me do it.”
REVERSED:
In the reversed position, the Devil card can signify divorce and detachment. It can also represent evil, greed, or emotional blackmail. You are your own worst enemy and you have put yourself into an emotional imprisonment. You may be overindulging yourself and have been gluttonous and greedy, but there is a hefty price to pay. You have been abusing yourself and others for too long. You have put blinders on and have been unable to see your weaknesses and those of others. On the positive side, it can indicate overcoming adversity or enlightenment. Confront your demons head on. It is also a time for making apologies, where appropriate. You may also find that you are released from bondage to material possessions and from being an emotional hostage. New views about your place in the Universe may be revealed.
