Tarot Card for the Week of 4-2-17

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics and actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. Keep in mind that some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Moon card as the tarot card for the week of 4-2-17, this might be the week of changes, delusions or deceptions. Be vigilant and plan your week with caution. If you are feeling that your intuition has been faltering lately, don’t worry, this is the week to trust it and rely on it. Your inner voice is important at this time. However, if you find yourself backed into a corner or having feelings of despair, this is a good time to seek out a trustworthy friend to confide in and give you helpful advice. You may also experience some emotional ups and downs this week. This is a sign that you must look for balance in your life. This card is also representative of your need for a reality check. Stay calm, have patience and outcomes will be in your favor. At the end of the week, you decide if the tarot card fell in the upright or reversed position for you.

MAJOR ARCANA NUMBER 18

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN or PLANET: CANCER, PISCES, MOON

UPRIGHT:
The Moon card represents forces that remain largely hidden. This card stands for illusions. It indicates that you need to be careful of a devious and deceitful individual who may lead you astray. Don’t let any fabricated notions cloud your judgment. At this time, it is possible that you have little or no direction in life. The light of the moon provides some illumination down a path into the unknown, but not enough to brighten the landscape like the Sun, or cut through the dark shadows from which the unexpected may leap. However, the Moon is not without gifts you can use. She spurs your imagination and creativity. Good career paths may be found in the entertainment industry, writing and the arts. She can be a portal to knowledge and experience beyond the realm of your everyday life.
But her offerings will not be available to the feint of heart. Your imagination and illusions may make your daily life feel out of control. However, you may be feeling emotional highs as well as lows. This may be a time when memorable events may be taking place, which you will not forget about easily. Remember that things are not always as they seem. For example, what appears to be going up, may actually be going down. You need to listen to your inner voice. You may also be able to tap into your psychic abilities and use your intuition to solve problems.
REVERSED:
In the reversed position, the Moon card is an indication that you have been deceiving yourself. You have been subject to mood swings that you do not understand, which are causing a number of problems. All this may be affecting your mental and physical health and you may feel physically drained. Your intuition and psychic powers are blocked. This is not a time to isolate yourself. You may want to confide in a friend or get help. You may have difficulty separating reality from fantasy. You also may be escaping from reality. It is time to step out of this world of illusions you are living in. This is a time you are feeling sorry for yourself. This will get in the way of any productivity. This card can be a warning of dangerous roads ahead. This is the time for a reality check. This is also not the time to take any risks. There will be opposition and disagreements with others on your beliefs and viewpoints. Stay true to your own convictions. Don’t lose focus, your imagination can sidetrack you. With patience, things may start to turn in the right direction.

Tarot Card for the Week of 3-22-15

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics and actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. Keep in mind that some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Six of Swords as the tarot card for the week of 3-22-15, this is the week to take a good look at your life and relationships and decide if it is time to move on. This may be the week you will start to become more calm as you recover from a period of great anxiety and tension. You are now headed for peace and harmony. The card can also signify a change of job, career or a possible journey, perhaps over water. This is a week of making choices and finding balance and order, thus moving away from your recent feelings of turmoil and upheaval. You will begin to gain back confidence and be able to muster the courage to leave or change a current troublesome situation. However, you also may find that you are having a hard time coping this week. The Six of Swords tells you to address your problems and solve them, otherwise they will resurface again and again, surrounding you in negativity. At the end of the week, you decide if the Six of Swords fell in the upright or reversed position for you.

UPRIGHT:
The Six of Swords card, Minor Arcana, signifies motion and moving on. Healing needs to begin. A solution to a problem is on the horizon. Indications are those of moving forward. There is a balance between your logical thinking and your intuition. You will have to make some hard choices. The current circumstances that were keeping you down are soon to be over. The desire for calmness and for things to go smoothly can only happen if you adjust your thinking. Keep an open mind to many options — but one will be your answer. Travel plans may be in the near future.
REVERSED:
There is stagnation and an inability to move forward. You may be experiencing some challenges moving ahead. Your emotions are mixed up. You have feelings of being stuck in old business and love relationships. Struggles may still be hanging over your head and more roadblocks appear. You may not see a way out of your current situation; however, stay the course and you will be set free. You may find it difficult to negotiate with uncooperative individuals.

Mercury Retrograde June 7, 2014

 mercuryretro

Mercury will go retrograde on Sat., June 7 and it will end on Tues., July 2. Mercury retrograde occurs three to four times a year. In astrology, the planet Mercury is all about communication, technology and travel. It is in these areas that you should tread cautiously.
Retrograde is an astrological term applied to certain planets whose motion appears to be heading backwards in the sky when viewed from the earth. However, the planet does not actually move backwards, it is merely an illusion because the Earth is moving at a faster speed around the sun.
Here’s what can possibly happen during this upcoming retrograde, and it is not all negative. Be vigilant if you are an air or water astrological sign. Even your pets can be sensitive to these effects, so be patient with them.

Positive Effects

1. Heightened intuition and psychic abilities

2. A good time for reflection on the past

3. Focus on unfinished business

4. Amazing synchronicities and coincidences

5. Mental clarity

6. Reconnect with old friends and like-minded individuals

Negative Effects

1. Electronic malfunctions (household appliances, automobiles, computers, cell phones, etc.)

2. Back up your computer hard drive before the retrograde

3. Computers are more susceptible to viruses

4. Plans may get derailed

5. Avoid signing contracts

6. Travel plans or hotel bookings may be disrupted

Keep in mind that some of us may experience these effects and others will not. So, take some time to reflect how the Mercury retrograde might affect your life during this current cycle. Will it be chaos or calm?

Benefits of Meditation

Meditation works on many levels: by contributing to our physical and mental well-being, by enhancing the immune system and by reducing the effects of stress. Meditation provides a deeper spiritual connection for many people and can have a significant effect on their personal growth and development.

One important benefit of meditation is improved concentration, which is why many athletes and sports professionals practice it. There have been a number of studies conducted that concluded there is a direct correlation between concentration exercises such as meditation and significant increases in athletic performance.

Another benefit of meditation for many people is improved sleep. Not only do they find it easier to get to sleep, but they also find that the quality of their sleep is better. This has a direct impact on stress levels, as people find it easier to cope with everyday stressors when well rested. It is often reported that meditation helps to put problems into perspective, which further decreases levels of anxiety and stress.

In our increasingly frenetic world, taking time out to practice meditation can provide you with an oasis of calm that sustains the rest of your day. When a mind is allowed to simply let go and just be, it often becomes more creative and more able to problem-solve. Meditation can also provide benefits far beyond those enjoyed by the individual. It can have a profound effect on society in general. This is one reason that some schools require 20-minute meditations for each student. Results have shown that students who do meditate become more calm and focused and can better cope with their studies.

As we become more aware of the need for a holistic approach to health and well-being, this formerly esoteric practice is now more widely accepted. People are turning to meditation to find the inner security and sense of peace that is so often missing from modern life. They are seeking the nurturing they need to sustain them through lives that are far more complex than ever before. This ancient art is deservedly experiencing a revival. In its simplicity, there lies the answer to so many of our modern ailments. Meditation is here to stay and can only increase in popularity as more people discover its benefits.
