Tarot Card for the Week of 7-17-16

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics and actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. Keep in mind that some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Eight of Cups as the tarot card for the week of 7-17-16, this might be the week to reevaluate the path you have been on. If things have not been going according to plan, this is the time to change course. You need to realize that materialism is not the answer; you will need to tap into your spiritual self for guidance and fulfillment. Reflect on your lifestyle and outlook on life; change those habits that do not serve you well.

UPRIGHT:
Eight of Cups, Minor Arcana, indicates leaving something behind, a turning point. This card indicates that you are looking for deeper meanings and a more intense joy to what has been a somewhat mundane life. You have a desire to be somewhere else or to leave a relationship that is not bringing you emotional fulfillment. You may be feeling that there is not much left to give of yourself. Walking away at this point may be the best option. You want to escape, but will better serve yourself if you find the answers within. You must discover your true spiritual needs and put less importance on your material possessions. You realize that all the materialistic things you have acquired will not make you truly happy. This card indicates that you have grown tired of your old ways and you need to find some way to fill that void. You may feel disenchanted and frustrated with the lack of progress. This is a time for you to look for some form of spiritual fulfillment. Once this has been achieved, positive changes will happen.
REVERSED:
There is depression and emotional scarring. You are closed off from others. You have come to a point in your life where you are numbing your feelings and emotions. This may lead to some type of substance abuse, gambling or some other form of addiction. It is time to reach out for help. You are also solely out for extremes of pleasure, self-indulgence and gluttony. You also may not know which is the right direction to turn — there is a part of you that is comfortable in the current circumstances you are in; however, fear is holding you back from exploring new opportunities. This is the time to realize that you have come to a point in your life where you recognize your limitations and what can and cannot be fixed. Stop wavering and make a different choice. You have found it easier to walk away from problems than to confront them. You have created distractions, rather than deal with reality. Also, you are in denial about your financial resources. Reflect on whether you have done everything you could to help yourself out monetarily.

Tarot Card for the Week of 11/23/14

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics and actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. Keep in mind that some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Nine of Swords as the tarot card for the week of 11-23-14, this may be the week that you begin to stop worrying that people are talking negatively about you behind your back. You may want to find time to rest and quiet your mind. You may find that either you or someone dear to you are experiencing inner conflict and mental distress. If it is you that has suffered loss or if you find yourself deeply unhappy, this may be the time to focus on and be grateful for the positive things you have in your life. This is especially true given that it is the week of Thanksgiving. It is also a time to face your fears, otherwise you could propel yourself into a very serious depression or illness. The Nine of Swords indicates that this may be the week to make the doctor appointment you have been putting off. This is the week to rethink your actions and be careful of rash decisions. At the end of the week, you decide if the Nine of Swords fell in the upright or reversed position for you.

UPRIGHT:
The Nine of Swords card, Minor Arcana, represents nightmares, both in sleep and while awake. These nightmares are brought on by the anguish and fears of your daily life. You may be in denial about a past experience — possibly from some of your wrong doings or those that were brought on by others. Stress and guilt are causing mental and emotional pain. Feelings of victimization are continuous. The fact that you believe that no one cares about you can bring you to tears. However, the anxiety and feelings of being stuck are really an opening to a new life. What you fear most of all most likely will not happen. What appeared to be a lost cause can be overcome.
REVERSED:
There is an indication that you are creating your own problems and are burning yourself out. The fears you have are still present but it is time to work through them. If you continue in this state, there is a danger of illness. Understanding your anxieties will open a new door for you. Face your demons. Don’t manifest a self-fulfilling prophecy. This card can also indicate that bad situations or nightmares are over. Caution is needed in financial affairs.

Why Do Spirits Linger?

 earthboundspirit

An earthbound spirit is a deceased person’s soul whose energy lingers in the physical world and has not yet crossed over into the spiritual realm. Many reasons have been hypothesized about why these souls do not cross over. Films and television programs tend to popularize the belief that entities who stick around on the physical plane are there to wreak havoc on loved ones, people who have purchased property in which they inhabited or those who have disturbed their resting places. Some of these are fictional accounts and do not represent the whole story.

The common collective research about near-death experiences (NDEs) has been that when one dies and transitions to the spirit world, a bright, loving, light within a tunnel appears and the soul is guided through it and greeted by past loved ones or benevolent entities. Whether or not you believe this, you have most likely heard it. The transition is completed and the soul becomes a part of the spirit world. But how do you really know if a soul has successfully crossed over?

Theories exist that some souls do not transition to the other side in a picture-perfect way. Some researchers and psychic mediums believe that perhaps a soul might encounter obstacles to its transition. These so-called earthbound spirits may have something holding them back that will not allow them to rest in peace. Listed below are some possible explanations as to why a spirit might remain stuck in the physical realm.

Confusion — A person who experienced a bewildering, traumatic, sudden death by way of a car accident, act of war, murder, plane crash, or other unexpected means, might not cross over immediately because he/she does not comprehend his/her own death. It may take a long while for the perplexed individual to accept what has happened and to allow the transition to the spirit world.

Unfinished Business — Earthbound spirits may not want to cross over because they were unable to complete an important project prior to their death and they are fixated on seeing it through; they may want to make sure that their loved ones rightfully benefit from the inheritance due to them; they might feel they have to relay one final important message to someone; or they have a specific goal that they were robbed of completing while they were still alive.

Fear of the Unknown — People who had specific religious beliefs when they were alive might still harbor those beliefs as an earthbound spirit. They may actually fear the act of crossing over. They might be guilt-laden because of their earthly deeds and fear being judged too harshly. The fear of crossing over may also stem from the fear of encountering souls in the spirit world who have wronged them or encountering those souls who they had wronged in the physical world. There might also exist the fear that if they cross over their energy will not continue on.

Guilt — An earthbound spirit who has commit suicide or whose behavior contributed to the death (e.g., addiction problems) may experience overwhelming guilt at abruptly leaving behind loved ones — leaving them to fend for themselves and to dig their way out of possible financial debt or legal troubles.

Right a Wrong — Especially in the case of an individual has been murdered, the soul will make every effort to stay in the physical realm to reveal clues surrounding the mystery of his/her death, in the hopes that those who were involved will be brought to justice. A spirit might also be compelled to delay crossing over in order to help a loved one or friend uncover the truth or warn about a situation or an individual who has been unfaithful or whose motives have been unscrupulous in some way.

Loved Ones not Letting Go — Earthbound spirits are often kept from crossing over because the loved ones they have left behind have not been able to move forward or let go and accept the death. The living individuals have not learned to live without the deceased. The spirit becomes tied to those feelings, which overrides their ability to move on to the spirit world. The spirits become stuck and chained down to the physical realm.

In conclusion, at times, the spirits as well as the living need help to make the necessary transitions after death. Psychic mediums and those who are extremely sensitive to spirits have been quite successful in assisting and persuading these earthbound spirits to cross over. They have also been able to uncover the various reasons that may have been holding the spirits back from doing so. They have been able to ally their fears and enticed them to a better place and out of a state of limbo. This process does not always happen immediately. It may take quite some time and patience to achieve the desired outcome for all.

Tarot Card for the Week of 6-9-13

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics and actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. Keep in mind that some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Death card, Major Arcana, as the tarot card for the week of 6-9-13, this is not the week of impending doom or death. It just might be the week that you can  let go of some of your old thinking, beliefs or habits which will open the doorway for new beginnings that will create changes for the better. Part of letting go involves learning lessons from past mistakes. Make sure that you do not fight the new opportunities that are coming your way. You might also take this week to evaluate your relationships. You may find that some of them have been draining your energy. If that is the case, it might be time for you to let go. If you find yourself feeling depressed or stagnated, ask yourself if you have been giving 100 percent in your life. Try to reconnect with your own energy and passion for life. Do not let fear hold you back. The Death card can also be taken as a warning of bad news, an accident, turmoil or even the passing of someone you know.

THE DEATH CARD

MAJOR ARCANA, NUMBER 13

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN or PLANET: SCORPIO, MARS, PLUTO

UPRIGHT:
The Death card is not associated exclusively with the end of human life. The card is more about endings, which can include the completion of a chapter in your life, a turning point of some kind or a time of renewal — all of which could bring about new and positive beginnings. It is time to focus on the important things in your life. Decide what things are no longer necessary to hold on to. It can also denote the end of a bad relationship or a change in status that can result in an unexpected, life-altering change. You may be resistant to change, but you must remember that it is for the best. Additionally, the card can indicate a transition point, the need to eliminate excesses and to let go of old ideas, problems and baggage. Keep in mind that it can also indicate the death of an ailing or elderly individual you may know.
REVERSED:
When the card appears in the reverse position it can point toward a refusal to change or an inability to move forward. You may be stagnated or feeling stuck, which may result in an agonizing time in your life. It also suggests avoiding the end of something, holding on to the past or a fear of the future. You may find that you are the one getting in the way of beneficial changes. Also, you may be experiencing mental and physical exhaustion and finding yourself in a period of feeling too listless to make changes.

Tarot Card for the Week of 5-5-13

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics and actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. Keep in mind that some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Tower card, Major Arcana, as the tarot card for the week of 5-5-13, this may be the week of change. It will be important to brace yourself for some irritating and troublesome situations in order to reap the benefits of positive outcomes and change. There is the possibility that you will feel you are at the point of hopelessness, but bear with it. This is the week to dig down to your core and get in touch with your humility and inner wisdom. Being a know-it-all alone will not serve you well. You may feel that relationships, a business, finances or career are crumbling, which may be due in part to unsteady foundations to begin with. It is your choice now to decide how to build a firmer one. Expect and accept the rapid changes in your life — they are beyond your control.  What has taken place in the past may be hindering your progress going forward. It is important to look at your own behavior and beliefs, as these may also be holding you hostage. This may be the week that you need to make that decision to implement a new start. If you suffer a physical injury, don’t overreact because it may not be as damaging as you think it is. Any feelings of being sabotaged are of your own doing. It is time to take a good look at yourself and determine if you are being your own worst enemy. Remember never to abuse any power or authority given to you. This is also the week to beware of any people who might be misrepresenting themselves to you.At the end of the week you decide if the Tower card fell in the upright or reversed position for you.

MAJOR ARCANA NUMBER 16

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN or PLANET: AQUARIUS, ARIES, MARS

UPRIGHT:
The Tower card represents those things you are unwilling to face but must or those things that you have no choice over. It indicates that something will be torn down or shattered violently. There is an indication that your ego may be deflated. You may suffer bankruptcy, severe conflict within your career, a devastating relationship loss, even a possible separation, divorce or imprisonment. Your life is in a state of upheaval. There will be a period of disorder, and there may be loss. Expect setbacks and emotional turmoil. However, there is a possible light at the end of the tunnel to relieve and free you. Even though you might find this overwhelming, the card insists that you make changes and look for the good in them. You may find yourself moving out of your current home and/or a change in occupations. Positive outcomes can occur from this card. Truths will be laid bare, revelations and breakthroughs are not only possible, but likely, and nothing spurs creativity like a good dose of chaos and confusion. In the end, it is likely that the replacement of what was lost in the fall of the Tower will be worth the loss.

REVERSED:
In the reversed position, the Tower card can signify a fear of change, staying in a rut, procrastination, caught in a bad situation, change avoidance and escaping disaster. You might have a loss of your job or financial setbacks. You must take responsibility for your actions. You have possibly misused certain power or authority that you possess. You may be blamed for things you have not done and you must face these allegations with courage. You may experience some changes in relationships. This is a time to take a look to the future and prepare yourself to change for the better. If you resist these changes, you are setting yourself up for a fall. You have no control over the outcome, however, there might be a last minute saving grace or epiphany for you.
