Tarot Card for the Week of 5-4-14

The tarot cards hold special meanings, warnings, characteristics and actions that may need to be taken in order to change your course in life. Keep in mind that some aspects are changeable and some are not. It is all up to you. With the Emperor card as the tarot card for the week of 5-4-14, this may be the week to focus on completing a task. But someone who is a control freak may be standing in your way or become a thorn in your side and hinder your success. During this time of the change of seasons, this card may represent a time of change and caution for you as well. Watch out for your emotions, as tempers can run high at this time of year. Being too emotional this week will cause your plans to be thwarted. If you are harboring hostility toward authority figures, you may find yourself becoming a rebellious and resentful individual. Also, there may be someone around you with ulterior motives. Keep an eye out for this individual. At the end of the week, you decide if the Emperor fell in the upright or reversed position for you.

MAJOR ARCANA NUMBER 4

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN or PLANET: ARIES, JUPITER

UPRIGHT:
The Emperor card, Major Arcana, represents leadership and a father figure. It signifies the importance of keeping an inner balance, self-reliance and trusting in your own judgment. It also indicates that there is going to be change in your life. This card may indicate that you will be put into a position of authority over others. You or some other individual close to you can turn chaos into order, teach and protect, although they lean to the stern side of their natures. You hold strong to your convictions, yet there is a danger of becoming a tyrant. You prefer order and control ? reason rules over your feelings and emotions. This is a positive card ? but be prepared to take control and make appropriate changes in your life to attain your goals.
REVERSED:
In the reversed position, the Emperor card can signify dominance, immaturity, lack of inner strength and indecisive behavior. You or another individual prefer to dominate or bully other people, which only speaks to insecurity. Feelings and emotions may rule over practicality, which will allow obstructions to get in the way of goals. Defeat in personal battles is certain because of confusion about who the enemies are and the fact that emotions rule decision-making. There is hostility toward authority and discord is the environment that prevails. Do not take on too much ? it is important to find balance. The card also serves as a warning that someone around you is going to use you for his own personal gain. You may be unaware at the time you are being deceived.
