MAJOR ARCANA NUMBER 8

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN or PLANET: LEO, NEPTUNE, MARS

UPRIGHT:
The Strength card, Major Arcana, denotes an inner power and energy, mastery of will and development of inner might. This positive card reminds you to have faith in yourself. Through mastering emotions and learning from both success and failure, the card represents a person who has reached a place where they are influential, without applying physical force, are able to weather the roughest of storms and are not likely to abandon the less fortunate. It also denotes an enormous capacity for forgiveness and compassion. This card is not as much about winning, as it is about overcoming hardship and using well-crafted persuasion to bring others to your side. This card can also indicate that you may reconcile with a loved one if you can alter your attitude. Kindness and love will show you how.
REVERSED:
In the reversed position, the Strength card signifies possible set-backs, self-doubt, weakness, alienation, misuse of power, disharmony, pettiness and fear of the unknown. It can represent a person who victimizes others, which leads to isolation and discord. Abusing your authority will have negative effects on others and they will harbor resentment toward you. You can be intimidating and overbearing. On the other hand, the card can represent someone who is lacking in confidence and who might be needy of others to a fault. You might also be overtaken by narcissism, physical desires and envy. In relationships, you may be feeling inadequate or insecure. You may be wondering if your partner’s feelings for you are as strong as yours. It may also indicate that someone in your life may be obstinate and overbearing.
