Dreaming Room

Welcome to Psychic Library’s Dreaming Room, a place to learn about dream interpretation. Dreams that occur during sleep are unique and are connected to an individual’s own life experiences, emotions and thoughts. Throughout history and within many cultures, dreams were believed to be spiritual messages and visions sent from a higher power or from the departed. Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung revolutionized dream study and interpretation from a psychological standpoint.

Research continues to evolve and bring about a better understanding of the science. Certain dreams are common to many people, no matter their culture. In this room, dream themes will be described and explained, in the attempt to shed light on why we dream the things we do. Understanding your dreams will deepen the connection with your mind, body and spirit.

BEING ABANDONED

AbandonmentDreams about feeling or being abandoned tend to be very disturbing and distressing until you take a look at your past experiences and your current waking life situations to understand why these dreams of abandonment are occurring.

These dreams can have physical or emotional implications. Ask yourself who or what in your waking life could be making you feel this way. Are you unknowingly being overly dependent on an individual, group, or material possessions? Are feelings, emotions or impressionable events from your childhood resurfacing to cause these dreams of abandonment?

BUGS

Bug dreams or insect dreams are usually symbolic of something that is taking place in your waking life, particularly in the areas of relationships, career, workplace and social interactions. Although you may have an aversion to some of these creepy crawly creatures in your waking life, you should pay careful attention to what they represent to your subconscious mind during your dream.

Bugs all have their own unique traits and “jobs” within their societies. They have survived, evolved and adapted for millions of years. Although we like to think of the human race as the most intelligent species, insects are truly their own success and survival story. To interpret bug dreams, think about the duties and accomplishments of the bug you dream about and also the aspects you might find irritating about them.

BEING CHASED

A dream scenario that people often experience is that of being chased by predators, ranging from people, animals and even monsters that want to harm or kill you. These figures typically represent the people who you are currently interacting with in your waking life. You either try to outwit your pursuer or run away. Your reaction reflects how you might handle a threatening situation in real life.

Chase dreams often result from feelings of general anxiety, even paranoia, experienced in the waking hours. Also, feeling overstretched at work or pressures in a relationship can trigger this type of dream.

COLOR VS. BLACK AND WHITE

dejavu 2Most people who remember their dreams upon waking are focused on what took place in the dream and the emotions they experienced during it. They do not necessarily pay attention to whether the dream was in color or black and white. It is hard to believe that in this day and age, with the assault of technological advancements in high-definition color televisions, computers and films that are offered in 3-D with intense colorization, that anyone can dream in black and white.

It has been difficult for dream researchers to understand how dreams work and whether or not people dream in color. Psychic Library conducted its own survey about dreaming in color and polled its library cardholders, Facebook friends and posted it in the Conference room.

DEATH AND DYING

A common superstition or myth exists that if you die in your dream, you will not wake up to tell about it. This is not the case, at least in most circumstances. If you do dream of your death and are fortunate enough to wake up, remember it or tell someone about it. To follow are the possible interpretations of such types of dreams.
