Clairvoyance

The term clairvoyance, or clear seeing, originated from the French words clair (clear) and voir (to see). It is the ability to see events from the future, present and past within the mind’s eye. Clairvoyance differs from telepathy, which is one of several other psychic powers. Telepathy is a conscious, direct sending of information from one individual to another, without the use of the five senses. Clairvoyance is the knowledge of past, present or future events that is gained without direct conscious thought.

Clairvoyance encompasses precognition, knowing events that are going to happen and retrocognition, (postcognition), knowing events or situations that have taken place in someone’s past. In the field of parapsychology, clairvoyance falls under the category of psi-gamma. Clairvoyants use their ability to see or perceive events; whereas, some psychics and psychic mediums rely on angels and spirit guides or deceased individuals to obtain information.

Several techniques can enhance clairvoyance. One of the best known is to meditate on the third eye, or brow chakra. When this chakra is in balance, communication with the spirit world and physical world is opened. The following meditation will get you started.

Find a quiet place where there are no interruptions.
Lie down on your back or sit with both feet firmly on the ground.
Start by controlling your breathing.
Take in slow deep breaths through your mouth.
Hold each breath for a few seconds, and let them out slowly through your mouth.
Continue this until you become more relaxed.

You might want to play some soft background music or use a mantra to assist you in quieting your mind. A mantra is a word or short phrase that you repeat to yourself or aloud. This will help shut off unwanted mental chatter. If you find yourself drifting away from your focus, just continue repeating your mantra and concentrate on your breathing.

Start to clear your mind.
This is important so that you can begin to receive new information.
Picture your mind as a blank movie screen.
If you are focusing on a person, place or event, let go of any previous knowledge you had about them.

Now, focus on the area just above your eyebrows.
This is the doorway for receiving information.
Internally, ask your mind to be open to any unknown communications.
Keep repeating this question.

If you are thinking about an individual, you may get a name, which is good. Think of how that name may be attached to the person you are thinking about. This same process applies to a place or event. If you do not receive any information initially, keep repeating this exercise. Eventually, you will acquire information.

Once you believe that you have new insights, try to do some investigational work to verify what this information may mean. Remember, it may be a name of a person or event that could be coming into someone’s life, or possibly an incident, good or bad, that may take place down the road. Once you are certain that you are gaining knowledge through clairvoyant means, try practicing it on someone. This exercise is fairly easy.

Ask a friend to give you a person’s name.
See what information or other names pop into your head.
Ask your friend if he/she is aware of how this may pertain to the person you are talking about.
You may be quite surprised at your accuracy.

As with all of the different forms of psychic power development, don’t get discouraged, because it does take
time and practice.
